Popana was born in Saharsa, Bihar—in the heart of the Mithila region, which produces 90% of the world’s finest Fox Nuts. For generations, we watched our local farmers harvest these white gems from the ponds, only to see them shipped off, repackaged by city brands, and sold back to us at premium prices.
We asked ourselves: Why can’t a world-class brand rise from the very soil where the crop grows?
So, we built Popana. No middlemen. No compromise. Just the freshest, biggest, and crunchiest makhana, straight from the source to your hand.
2. The Mission: "Making Healthy Cool"
For too long, Makhana was seen as "fasting food" or something only grandmothers ate. We wanted to change that. We believe healthy food shouldn't be boring. It should have Zing.
Enter Mak-Z.
Our mascot, Mak-Z, represents our spirit. He’s rooted in tradition but wears sneakers. He represents the modern snacker who wants the protein of a superfood but the flavor of a cheat meal.
